Cowal

The Cowal mine is located in Central New South Wales, Australia, approximately 32 kilometres north of West Wyalong and approximately 350 kilometres west of Sydney.

Mining at Cowal is by way of an open pit utilising a fleet of dump trucks, excavators and ancillary equipment. Initial ore mined is an oxide material with a harder primary ore at depth.

In 2008, Cowal produced 191,000 ounces of gold at total cash costs of $673 per ounce1. Proven and probable mineral reserves as of December 31, 2008 are estimated at 2.8 million ounces of gold2.
