Osborne
The Osborne underground copper-gold mine is located in the state of Queensland in northeastern Australia,195 kilometres southeast of the inland town of Mount Isa and 720 kilometres west-southwest of the coastal city of Townsville.
Ore is mined by conventional underground mining methods and transported to the Osborne mill.
In 2008, production at Osborne totaled approximately 33,000 ounces of gold and 75 million pounds of copper. Total cash costs were $531 per ounce of gold and $1.64 per pound of copper1. The proven and probable mineral reserves at December 31, 2008 are estimated at 45,000 ounces of gold and 98 million pounds of copper2.
